Perry Beekman. S’ Wonderful
Guitarist and vocalist Perry Beekman has remained true to himself, dipping back into The Great American Songbook jazz standards collection for his latest album, the full title of which accurately reflects its content — S' Wonderful: Perry Beekman Sings And Plays Gershwin.
Naturally, arranging tributes to the works of two greats like George and Ira Gerswhin is never easy for a musician, who has to breathe new life into familiar themes. Pianist Peter Tomlinson and bassist Lou Pappas contributed a lot in this respect.
